About SHAUN McMINN
I have been working in Zimbabwe and Africa for a decade and a half as a professional filmmaker and photographer.
My passion for photography started in my family with my brother, teaching me to use a simple camera at 13 years old… From hobby to full time profession, I went on to study journalism at a prestigious university in South Africa and have taken my camera and love for this medium around the world, from Australia to Asia, to West Africa, Europe and Southern and East Africa. Post this, I took my skills to the next level and went on to do a bachelor of filmmaking. Whilst living and studying in Australia and also worked as a Divemaster.
Having returned to Africa, where my love of wildlife and conservation lies, I work with Africa’s most intrepid and luxurious safari lodges, boutique hotels and safari operators offering a full scope of photography, drone work and videography. These opportunities have offered me the very rare privilege of exploring and spending time in some of most prolific wildlife and birdlife areas, which of course continues to inspire and drive me to hone my craft and teach others to find the joy in this medium of art.
This is where I meet, inspire and educate extraordinary and like-minded people. This leads to lasting friendships and repeat guests, always with their hearts drawn to nature and mastering their new skills. Cultivated within my work, I a work in parallel with conservation, communities and organisations that ensure the longevity of the true wilderness areas of Africa. This is another key factor to my business and love for my work.
I hope to be able to show you Africa, and your own potential to capture this ever-evolving natural world that I call home.
